EFP Group has a long history of community involvement. Over the course of our 25 years, we have contributed to many charitable activities and worthy causes. We value highly our obligation as a good corporate citizen and welcome the opportunity to participate.
Our areas of charitable focus
Family Services and Health — Women/children’s programs, children with disabilities, crisis and ‘at risk’ programs, local health or medical programs, organ transplantation (e.g. Special Olympics, Camp Good Days, Compeer, Ronald McDonald House, Heritage Christian Home, etc.)
Education Organizations — Educational programs aimed at improving technical skills in children, institutions of higher learning with specific emphasis in accounting programs.
Civic/Arts/Community Organizations — Community arts and educational organizations including, but not limited to: Geva Theatre, RPO, Seneca Zoo, Memorial Art Gallery, RMSC, Urban League, etc.
Ways we contribute
- Donation – Cash contribution to an organization. Funds may be utilized within the general operating budget of the recipient organization. The citing of the firm in a listing of donors (program listing, contributor listing in a facility, etc.) is the minimum accepted return for the donation.
- Grant – Cash contribution for a specific program or organizational undertaking. Recognition of the firm’s participation in the specific program is required.
- Sponsorship – Payment for an event (e.g., walkathon, golf tournament) or activity in exchange for program advertising, signage, participation in an event, and should have appropriate notation and recognition of the firm’s name.
Our process for applications
Requests for donations, grants, or sponsorships must be submitted in writing to our Marketing Director. Requests will be reviewed once every 90 days (First week of: Sept, Dec, Feb, May). All requests, accepted and denied, will be notified in writing.
- The following information is required for each request:
Organization name, address, phone
- Contact name
- Nature of the organization’s activity
- Profile of the organization’s current funding and donors
- Program or activity for which funds are sought
- Amount requested or available participation levels (listings, ads, etc.)
- Any other relevant information – how large an event, number of participants, etc.
- Documentation of the organization's tax-exempt status
- How the firm’s participation will be recognized
Funding Criteria —requesting organization must be:
- a registered 501(c) (3) organization
- active and have a visible presence in the community (Rochester metro and Finger Lakes areas)
- active in one of the firm’s areas of charitable focus (see above)
- in a position to provide an acceptable level of recognition or exposure of our gift
EFP will not consider requests from or for:
- Individuals
- Capital campaigns (including construction or renovation projects)
- Organizations that are themselves grant-making
- Political parties, campaigns or candidates, or partisan political organizations
- Private foundations
- Fraternal organizations (police, fire associations, etc.)
- Religious organizations or houses of worship
- Youth or community sports teams, tournaments or activities
- Funds for advertising/marketing programs for a charity
- Multi-year commitments
- Trips, travel or cultural exchange programs
- Feasibility studies
- Organizations that discriminate by race, creed, ethnicity, disability, gender, sexual orientation, religion or national origin
